Project financed by the financial mechanisms of the European Economic Area, aimed at revitalizing the distinctive Kamariškiai Manor area and creating a space for local, national, and international music and visual arts creators to relax and collaborate. The goal is to bring higher cultural services to the region, improve cultural service infrastructure, strengthen the identity and inclusion of local residents by acknowledging the area’s history, uniqueness, and by creating and implementing a local development strategy.
The project’s value is 797,193 euros, with funding from the European Economic Area, Culture program – 707,509 euros, and a duration of 32 months.
The project aims to empower the historical Kamariškiai Manor site as a central cultural hub in the Zarasai district, connecting different sectors and local as well as international cultural resources, and establishing a sustainable network of mutual cooperation.
1. Applying the methodology of creative placemaking to create conditions for the development of a cultural network and services in the Zarasai district, by constructing Kamariškiai Manor as a central space.
2. Preserve and restore the historical buildings of Kamariškiai Manor and adapt them for the provision of cultural services and the promotion of cultural entrepreneurship, developing a space for creators’ creativity, relaxation, and collaboration.
3. Create, test, and develop sustainable local, national, and international cultural businesses – a space for visual arts and music creators’ creativity and collaboration, and implement a cultural entrepreneurship acceleration program aimed at Zarasai district creators and international cooperation.
